A Few Words About Our Business

Every Word Counts

At Words to Know we believe that “every word counts.”  We have been indexing works of literature
since 2003.  We use our vocabulary and specialized word lists to examine manuscripts and to report
what we learn about word frequencies, vocabulary usage, reading levels, and how a submission
matches up against best selling and award winning published novels.

The Words to Learn from the Books You Love

Our passion is children’s literature.  Children have an amazing ability for vocabulary development.
What better place to stimulate that natural ability and to nurture their minds than in the rich world of
literature that fascinates them?  Soon we will be offering an extensive array of products and services
that will educate our children in ways that are fun, original, and engaging, long before they lose their
delight in learning and begin to dread standardized tests such as the SAT’s.

About Our Services

Every Word Counts is a unique manuscript analysis service that helps writers see their work in a
whole new light.  Our highlighted manuscript methodology is like seeing an X-ray of your prose: in a
sense, we dim the prepositions, pronouns, sight words, and elementary vocabulary words from view
to emphasize each writer’s rich palette of word choices.  The report reveals not only each author’s
unique voice and use of language, but also weaknesses in the text that may have previously escaped
notice.  Now you can strengthen and repair your prose long before it reaches a wary editor’s critical
eye.
